Fall 2020 Member Letter
As another new academic year at the Center for Sacred Sciences is about to begin, it is time to announce the new practitioners groups for this year and also time for all CSS members to make their pledges. Please take a moment to read this letter then submit your online pledge form.
In order for the CSS Board to adopt a budget for this fiscal year (which runs from this September through August of next year) please complete and submit your membership pledge form as soon as possible, but no later than October 25, 2020. Note that you do not need to send money or a final decision which group(s) you will be attending in order to submit your pledge form.
If you decide not to renew your CSS membership, that's ok. We would appreciate a brief email, however, just to let us know you've decided not to renew.
New Members - Foundation Studies
Unfortunately, we will not be offering Foundation Studies this year.
One alternative would be to take our Distance Studies Course, which you can begin at any time. Distance studies is divided into eight phases, the first four phases of which cover much of the same material as Foundation Studies. Moreover, if you complete these four phases, you will be eligible to join any of our regular Practitioners' Groups, as well as begin attending our retreats.
A second alternative would be to join this year's Practitioners Group led by Todd Corbett, a veteran CSS teacher. Todd's Group will be starting with some of the same material covered by Foundation Studies. In addition, you would meet with Todd via Zoom for a half-hour one-on-one session before the start of each meeting. For more details about Todd's plans for the group this year, see the practitioners' groups descriptions.
Distance Studies Course Members
If you want to make a change to your pledge, please read the outline of supporting membership and complete and submit both the membership pledge form. To continue with the course and your current pledge, no action is required.
Please take a look at the descriptions of the plans for the various practitioners groups this year, then fill out the membership pledge form indicating your intention for the group(s) you will attend this year.
If you do not plan to attend any practitioners group this year, you can still renew as a supporting member, which is a way to continue to support the Center's programs and maintain a connection with the community. If you are a prior practitioner member, as a supporting member you will continue to be eligible to attend our practitioner retreats and community nights. To renew as a supporting member, please review the outline of supporting membership, then complete and submit the membership pledge form.
Thank you all for your support of the CSS mission!
